What is MCWG in Driving Licence?

MCWG in driving licence is the authorization granted by the Road Transport Authority (RTA) to individuals who can ride two-wheelers that have an engine capacity of above 50 cc and are equipped with gears. These include geared bikes, scooters, or mopeds. If you have an MCWG driving licence, you can use a two-wheeler across India legally.

Eligibility Criteria for MCWG Driving Licence

Before applying for an MCWG driving licence, you need to meet certain eligibility criteria. These may vary slightly depending on the region, but here are the general prerequisites:

  • You must be physically fit and mentally sound.
  • You must be between 18 and 70 years of age.
  • You must have a valid learner’s licence for MCWG for at least 30 days and not more than 180 days from the date of issue.
  • You must know the traffic rules and regulations.
  • You must pass a theory test that assesses your knowledge of road signs, signals, and safe riding practices.
  • You must pass a practical test that evaluates your ability to handle the motorcycle, manoeuvre through various situations, and adhere to traffic norms.

If you don’t have a MCWG Licence and have a MCWOG you can watch this video by technical alokji to see what all vehicles you can ride.
